Axel Joost Mini Safety Box

Almost all control boxes on the market have no input for the neutral switch and the side stand switch. This makes it possible to start the moped when a gear is engaged or to drive off with the side stand folded out. This can cause unpleasant accidents.

The safety module evaluates the 2 inputs for the neutral – and side stand switch and switches the start output free only if the neutral switch is closed, so no gear is engaged. In addition, the side stand switch is also queried. When the side stand is folded out, the ignition is switched off as soon as a gear is engaged. When the side stand is folded in, the ignition remains switched on.

Since some motorcycles have the side stand switch open when folded, the switch position can be rotated in the module. In this case, the brown wire is clamped against ground and then the ignition stays on only when the switch is open.

This waterproof potted safety module is much smaller and more reliable than a traditional hand-wired solution with 2 diodes and a relay. It can be retrofitted for all control boxes on the market that do not have a query for the side stand – and neutral switch.
